The right-hand man said he had asked one of his cousins to lend him a runner if he was there but he refused and said: "No, we don't have them".
"I was disappointed but I realized that I should not have been asked for mercy," said Azam, adding that the incident had taught him that he could do everything on his own. However, the cricketer did not disclose his cousin's name.
"At the time, I decided that if I wanted to get anything, I should get it," he said.
After the interview, the father of the cricket star, Azam Siddiqi, clarified what his son wanted to say.
Taking on Instagram, he said Babar's statement about borrowing shoes from a cousin was viral free.
The child may have asked for [sports shoes] and the other may not have or refused to give [for any reason], it is not a big deal, "he wrote.
However, he did confirm Babar's statement about self-esteem.
He said Babar Azam has many sponsors but has never ordered anything for himself, his brothers or other relatives.
