ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Khyber Pukhtunkhwa today (Monday) to lay the groundwork for the Pakistan Digital City Special Technology Zone project.

A state media report said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prime Minister Mahmood Khan, ministers of government and provinces, would accompany the prime minister during the event.

The Pakistan Digital City project is KP's flagship plan to provide all the resources in the IT industry in one place. The massive project has spread to more than 86 regions of the world and is expected to be completed at a cost of Rs1.31 billion.

The project aims to serve as a state-of-the-art facility so that we can collaborate and innovate between education, research, industry and organizers from within and outside the country, according to each report.

Pakistan Digital City will also help other integrated industries grow. Last year in August, the KP government approved the Digital City project.

By early December 2021, Prime Minister Imran Khan had opened Lahore Technopolis, a specialized technology center, to create jobs and increase technology exports to Pakistan.
