ISLAMABAD - With the start of 2022, the latest results from the Henley Passport Index show that Pakistan's passport is still the fourth weakest in the world after the war-torn Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

The index ranks international passports as the largest travel information database. It checks travel documents based on how many countries citizens can access without a visa, and, using information from the International Air Transport Association and based on the analysis of international travel documents, the 'Henley Passport Index' gives Pakistan a poorer position.

Pakistan's passport is still listed as the fourth worst international travel passport in the fourth year, with free visa or visa-on-arrival access to only 31 destinations worldwide. An estimated 221 million South Asian countries are ranked 108th.

Covid's tight travel restrictions have created the largest global travel gap in the 16-year index history, per report.

Meanwhile, as last year, Japan and Singapore came out on top together, followed by Germany and South Korea, who retained their second-place finish on their way back, Afghanistan and Iraq retaining first and second place, respectively.
