CAA desires to continue authorizing in February

KARACHI: Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) trusts it can continue authorizing pilots in February with the arrival of an International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) review report later an embarrassment over counterfeit licenses, a power official said.

The ICAO, the UN Aviation body, prompted Pakistan in September 2020 to embrace quick restorative activity and suspend the issue of any new pilot licenses later bogus licenses became exposed after the accident of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane in May that year, in which 97 individuals were killed.

A nine-part ICAO group did a review in Pakistan for 10 days that finished up on Friday.

"We are confident we will continue the issuance of authorizing following the arrival of the ICAO review report expected in February," Khaqan Murtaza, chief general of the PCAA, told correspondents on Monday.

The pilot permit outrage corrupted Pakistan's avionics industry and hurt banner transporter PIA, which was banished from traveling to Europe and the United States.

In June last year, Pakistan grounded 262 aircraft pilots associated with avoiding their tests following checks of their capabilities.

The activity was incited by the fundamental report on an aircraft crash in Karachi last year, which observed that the pilots had neglected to keep guideline methods and dismissed alerts.
