ISLAMABAD - Makhdoom Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hassan has been appointed Prime Minister's Assistant to Overseas Pakistani Overseas and Social Development for months after Zulfi Bukhari resigned.Reports in local media say that the Cabinet has confirmed the appointment of a British-Pakistani businessman and politician by notice following the approval of the Prime Minister.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan, in terms of the Fourth Business Act of 1973, is pleased to appoint Sed Tariq Mahmood-ul-Hassan, as the special aide to the PM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development", the statement quoted.
The PM reportedly met Hassan at the Prime Minister's House before the nomination was officially announced.
Hassan noted that the people of Pakistan overseas are facing many challenges and will use his new position to work to resolve these issues, in the view of Prime Minister Imran Khan who has always supported outsiders.
The PM asked me to work hard to care for the well-being of the people of Pakistan overseas, to address their real grievances, to protect them from land grabbing and other similar dangers, to help them with their investments, to remove barriers and to assist in policy decisions based on the recommendations received. immigrants from Pakistan, he added.
Earlier, Mahmood-Ul-Hassan was appointed deputy chairman of the Punjab Overseas Commission by Prime Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.
